I downloaded the file and did the install procedure. The Scomm32x.ocx file exists in the C:WindowsSyswow64 folder. Did the install program already register this activex control?

Yes. The installer registers the ocx

I have Scomm32 registered and checked in the resources list, but when I try to add it to my form from the ActiveX components list, it is not there? What am I missing? I'm using Access 2007 vba in Office 2010 32 bit, on a 64 bit Windows 7 computer.

Is SCommLib.SComm the activex control that I need to add to the form?

Its not in the Access2007 toolbox. Go to the menu controls/ insert activex control.
