It appears that you've dropped the ParallelEnable function in SComm32. Have you ever been able to find a way to surpress the 8020 read error that occurs with many of the Prolific USB to serial adapters and MSComm32? I've tried using the older Comm32 and was unable to get it to work with VB6 and XP Service Pack 3. It freezes the VB run environment and you must use the task manager to kill it.

In SComm32 disable the overlapped Io property.

I'm impressed! It works! I've been trying to find a cure for the Sabrent USC1M USB to Serial Adapter for a long time...this is it! My $79 is on it's way. : )
