Topic: What happened to Comm32.ocx?
|
By: Bruce52 | Posted on: Dec 20 2014 at 03:00:45 PM | I was reading some articles in the forum and ran across a reference to Comm32.ocx, a component with more functions than SComm32.ocx but less compatibility with MSComm32. I wanted to compare sComm32.ocx to Comm32.ocx since compatibility isn't a big issue, however the download link must be hidden. Of course, if sComm32.ocx works well enough there would be no reason to look any further.

Been using MSCOmm32.ocx for several years on a home automation project without any obvious failures though one time my outputs suddenly deactivated in the middle of a run and to this day I don't know if it was the ocx or my code that produced the problem. Even though that was a one-time occurrence I want to minimize the chances of a communications failure and am looking at SComm32 as a replacement.
